Landscapes

There’s a mystery to landscapes: they beckon to us, they can inspire us, and they can also remind us of our place in the larger scope of things. I use watercolors to nourish my imagination and restore my sense of well-being. I’m particularly interested in the horizon line—that boundary where sky meets ground and possibilities stretch far into the distance—and, contrastingly, in trees, those magnificent beings whose structure becomes more intriguing the more I look at them. Some of my landscapes have been influenced by time in the American Southwest, particularly southern Utah, others by walking through New Hampshire forests.
